How We Operate
Our organisation consists of a small staff team conducting fund-raising and delivering our community projects, governed by our Board of Trustees.
Board of Trustees
The board of trustees is the governing body of the charity chaired by our founder member John Oke, the board convenes at least six times a year to ensure the charitable objectives are being fulfilled and discuss future initiatives.
In addition trustees are involved in sub-committee meetings from time to time; subcommittees may be set up to specifically focus on an area of work, examples of sub-committees at The CarAf Centre in the past are: Fundraising, Policies and Finance etc.
Our Staff
We have small staff team of approx 17 employees made up full and part-time employees and volunteers. Fundraising and project delivery are the two main priorities areas of work.
Staff and volunteers often give up their time to actively get involved and deliver additional annual community activities and training events.
The expertise, experience and flexibility of the staff team has been crucial in enabling The CarAf Centre to be responsive in delivering services and events that support the emerging needs and issues of our users.
Accountability
Like all registered charities we are regulated by the Charity commission.
Our Account Manager undertake our book keeping and budgetary control, reporting to our Treasurer and each Board of Trustees Meeting. Our accounts and trustees report is audited annually by our external auditor Hammond & Co. Our Auditors are appointed annually at each Annual General Meeting.
