Empowerment Service

The Empowerment Service is a confidential culturally appropriate counselling service for African & Caribbean children, young people and their families. The aim of counselling is to provide an opportunity for, young people or thier families to talk about and understand their emotional problems; and to enable them to find more satisfying ways of dealing with them. Raising the educational achievement of African & Caribbean children and young people is also a significant objective of the Service.

THE SERVICE PROVIDES

· One-to-one counselling

· Support Groups

· Family work
All Service staff are trained and professionally qualified with substantial experience of working with clients from a wide range of background and age groups. To make an appointment please call our confidential counselling line and leave a message. We will do our best to respond to you within two weeks of you contacting us. · Drug abuse

· Low self esteem

· Parenting difficulties

· Anxiety

· Lack of confidence

· Abuse (physical, racial, sexual, verbal etc)

· Domestic Violence

· Bereavement

· Depression

· Eating Disorders

· Any other problems
